Our SunVelo Gravel experience offers 4 rides from Sunday 22nd to Wednesday 25th March inclusive, with each route and theme being unique to the style of gravel riding on the island. Your trip also includes x2 bus transfers to be dropped at the most perfect locations for the ultimate Mallorca gravel experience. During the trip you will learn how to navigate loose terrain, seek the safest route and solve emergency repairs. The rides will be fully guided with 2 experienced ride leaders at the front and rear of the group, encouraging a fun and dynamic environment on and off the road. Today’s ride is all about adventure and flow. We’ll start with a relaxed bus transfer to the peaceful town of Artà , then jump straight onto the Via Verde — a beautifully converted old railway line that rolls through open countryside and quiet villages. Today’s ride takes you deep into Mallorca’s heart for a true all-road adventure. Heading south, you’ll spend the day criss-crossing between smooth tarmac and classic gravel as we explore the island’s old camino roads — some silky smooth, others a little more… historic! Today’s ride takes us onto some of the best local gravel sectors as we climb the “mini mountain” near the Alcudia region for some truly epic island views. After soaking it all in, we’ll enjoy a fast, flowing descent that blends tarmac and gravel, before rolling through the Albufera Nature Reserve and finishing with a relaxed cool-down spin by the coast. The history of Mallorca's old caminos has left us with a variety of surfaces with a mixture of fine / smooth gravel to rocky surfaces. Experience riding gravel and / or MTB riding is recommended as confidence on 'loose surface' is recommended. On Gravel sectors, we will ride separately, and on the same route with a ride leader at the front and rear. Therefore you can enjoy each sector alone, choosing your own lines and direction. We will also give each ride a GPX route before the ride, so you can navigate the route without getting left behind. The groups will stop for coffee and lunch en route at local towns and villages. However, it is advised for everyone to be prepared with some fuel to consume during times between stops. Yes, we have road cycling groups departing daily from the same hotel until 26th October. If road isn't your thing, we can also supply you with more gravel GPX routes if you want to ride solo. Yes, of course! We recommend 38mm+ tyre width and the use of Tubeless is desired for Mallorca gravel. Our shuttle service allows for bike transportation to and from the Airport. The ethos of gravel is to enjoy being off road… no matter the bike! We recommend fast rolling tyres and easy to lock-out suspension to keep the good speeds rolling!
