The route includes the final 70 kilometres of the professional cyclists' route, culminating in the legendary climb up Mont Ventoux via Bédoin (15.7km at 8.8%). The stage starts in Voulte sur Rhone in the Ardeche just south of Valence. The stage finishes on Mont Ventoux after a brutal 15.6 kilometre climb, with an average gradient of 8.8%. It will be the first time the Giant of the Provence features in the women’s Tour. The stage has a total of 3,500 metres of climbing.
