Overview

A six day, self-guided cycling holiday, following a circuit that takes you up into Catalonia’s lesser-known regions of Gironès and Baix Empordà, starting and ending in the handsome and historic city of Girona. Baix Empordà is the coastal region at the northernmost point of Catalonia, where ancient villages, pine-covered slopes and castles, as well as the obligatory turquoise coves, make the most colossal of Catalan marriages. Cycling is on a mix of terrain, including Via Verde converted railway lines, through medieval towns such as Peratallada and the coastal Tossa de Mar, as well as trails through the Gavarres massif, in the Gironès region. Staying in a mix of small, locally-owned and comfortable boutique hotels, this cycling adventure is also reachable by rail.
