Overview

A nine day, self-guided adventure in Umbria and Lazio by e-bike. Starting and ending in the ancient hilltop town of Orvieto, if you love to combine history with adventure, cycling in these regions is a treat. Ancient architectural highlights include the Etruscan city of Civita di Bagnoregio, and the Renaissance Rocca Farnese in Capodimonte. Capodimonte is just one of several stops along Lake Bolsena, which is actually a crater formed by the Vulsini volcano, which erupted in Roman times. There is nothing explosive about cycling on the Cammino dei Borghi Silenti, however, which translates as Path through the Silent Villages. Which is Umbria at its most utopian.
