Beginning in Galway city, you’ll be transferred to the lovely town of Westport where your cycle tour will begin with a stretch of riding on the Great Western Greenway. This beautiful cycling track was built on the remains of an abandoned railway line and your first two days of this tour will be spent exploring the dramatic natural beauty of the region via the greenway. Moving beyond the greenway, you’ll cycle southwards on small country lanes and quiet roads along the Atlantic coast. Your evenings will be spent in welcoming towns including Leenane and Cliften, where you can enjoy Ireland’s famous hospitality in friendly pubs with traditional music. Your accommodation is in charming, family-run bed & breakfasts or small guesthouses.
