Overview

Experience Catalonia, where everything from the language to the landscape is distinctly different to the rest of Spain. A truly diverse region, you’ll pedal past sandy stretches and craggy coasts, green mountains and sheltered forests. Following easy-going cycle tracks, you can choose to arrive in the medieval city of Girona, the Catalan capital of Barcelona or Salvador Dali’s birthplace of Figueres. As you tour through sleepy hamlets and medieval towns, stop off to try regional red wines and the local staple of bread rubbed with tomatoes, sprinkled with salt and drizzled with olive oil. You’ll ride through typical Catalan countryside, passing vineyards, orchards and olive groves with a backdrop of the Pyrenees. The golden beaches on Catalonia’s wild coast are ideal for a rest day and nature fans can spot pink flamingos and black storks in Aiguamolls Nature Reserve.
