This two-week adventure tours through three countries in Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Setting-off from Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll cycle through the Mekong Delta, visit the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat, and ride to Thailand’s idyllic beaches. Suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, the terrain is mostly gentle and you’ll be riding on tarmacked roads and wide but rough dirt tracks. Some sections are covered by transfer vehicle or boat, and there’ll be a support van on hand for much of the way. Cycling through Vietnam’s rice bowl, you’ll pass colourful villages and Khmer houses before cruising along the Mekong River to Cambodia. Here, you’ll visit the moving Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, see the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh then cycle to Siem Reap. Biking across the Thai border is a significant milestone on day 12 – arriving on the sun-drenched coast, you’ll have time to relax on the sand and swim in the turquoise sea before your final leg to Bangkok. Due to the closure of Cambodia-Thailand land border crossings, Days 10 - 14 of the tour have been revised to include a flight from Siem Reap to Bangkok and three days of cycling in the eastern Thai provinces of Rayong and Chantaburi. The alternative itinerary displayed is in effect until further notice.
