Overview

A self-guided ride through Puglia’s lowlands and coastlines, this week-long route links Alberobello’s trulli with the baroque streets of Lecce, tracing quiet asphalt roads between vineyards, olive groves and two seas. Daily distances of 45–70km set a steady rhythm, with short climbs over the Murge before easing onto the Salento plain and along the Ionian and Adriatic shores past coastal towers, grottoes and fishing towns such as Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca. Nights are in mainly 3-star hotels, occasionally a trullo in Alberobello (subject to availability), with characterful stays in Ostuni, Otranto and seaside Leuca; buffet breakfasts included. Luggage is transferred, bikes and a navigational app are provided, keeping panniers light for snacks and swims. The focus is simple: historic towns, open seascapes, and Puglian staples—olive oil, fresh vegetables and wine.
