Overview

Cycle through the Mongolian wilderness - nomadic ger camps, steppes and forests. Mongolia is a traditional country and tourists remain an unusual sight. Spend 16 days cycling on great trails through open steppe onto expansive mountain landscape, and then finally through larch and pine forests. You and your group will camp under wide Mongolian skies each night. After arriving in Ulaan Baatar, you’ll head out to Erdenent and Tal Tolgoi. You’re in the saddle 50 kilometres each day (on average) and the trip is rated moderate by the operator. Some of the magnificent stops along the way include the pass at Chuluutiin Davaa, a descending bridge over the Altaan River, the steep pass of Tuluugiin, Mt. Khairkhan, Khairkhan Lake, and more. You’ll also have the chance to explore Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan Monastery, enjoy a performance by the Tumen Ekh Troupe, the gardens at Tsetserleg, and the Erdene Zuu Monastery.
