The Dolomites, a mountain range of outstanding natural beauty, is an Alpine landscape focused on Northern Italy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Northern Italy, are renowned for their jagged peaks, lush meadows, and picturesque valleys. The region's unique geology offers some incredible riding, from a machine-built bike park to an incredible natural single track and ridgeline, combined with Italian culture and hospitality, making it a must-visit region for any mountain biker. Along with the biking, regions such as Val di Fassa enjoy a rich, traditional Alpine culture where the cuisine, people and architecture is a mix of Italian and Austrian, mixing efficiency and a love for good food, coffee and wine in a perfect melting pot. The very best riding in the Dolomites can be found in Val di Fassa, a valley system found 3 hours north of Venice, 4 hours north east of Milan and around 2 hours south of the Austrian border. Canazei is the centre of the mountain biking scene, famous for holding several rounds of the Enduro World Series to great acclaim from the riders. Canazei has its own bike park, which is a popular destination for downhill enthusiasts. The park is equipped with lifts to transport riders and their bikes to the top of the trails, making it easier to enjoy the thrilling descents. The Canazei Bike Park features a variety of downhill and freeride trails suitable for different skill levels. While not a designated zone per se, the Sellaronda MTB Tour is a significant mountain biking experience starting from Canazei. It circumnavigates the Sella Massif, covering approximately 58 kilometers with stunning scenery and varying terrains. Canazei has hosted multiple rounds of the Enduro World Series. Val di Fassa is host to a huge variety of riding trails, but the routes used for the EWS, now known as the EDR, are not the easy runs. They pick the toughest routes in Canazei park, and in other areas of the Val di Fassa, for the most part they are black or even more challenging.
