Eurovelo 1 is an established long-distance cycling route that stretches across Europe. The Portuguese section covers the whole width of the Algarve and heads up the West Coast to Lisbon and beyond. The route between Vila Real de Santo António and Sagres is also part of the Ecovia do Litoral, a cycle route that covers a distance of 214 kilometres, mostly hugging the coast.
