This self-guided ride traces the baroque southeast of Sicily from Ragusa to Siracusa, linking hillside towns and quiet coasts at an unhurried pace. Days roll between UNESCO-listed Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Noto, through cacti- and pomegranate-filled valleys, dry-stone farms and olive, almond and citrus groves. The route dips to fishing villages—Sampieri, Pozzallo, Marzamemi—and along Blue Flag sands, passes the pantani lagoons frequented by flamingos and herons, and reaches the Isola delle Correnti where the Ionian meets the Mediterranean. Inspector Montalbano filming haunts add cultural colour, as do Nero d’Avola vineyards and Siracusa’s classical remains. Nights are in a varied mix of properties, including a villa hotel with views over Noto and a minimalist design stay in Portopalo; breakfasts and three dinners are included. Route notes, maps and luggage transfers support independent cycling, with e-bikes available.
