The Dolomites are a cyclist’s playground, with the finest climbing that Italy has to offer. Long climbs, steep climbs, lots of switchbacks, sweeping descents - a real cyclists wonderland. In 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bormio is a village in the heart of Alta Valtellina, in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. It lies in a wide, open valley surrounded by beautiful mountains for us to ride. It has a history going back to Ancient Rome and gets mentioned in one of Leonardo da Vinci’s documents, (he was a fan!).
