Overview

The Mittelland route seems to have been designed with families in mind. Bicycle paths, most of them closed to traffic, lead along the Aare to the region's famous three lakes. You'll pass beautiful old towns, see colonies of storks and take time to cool off in the waters of lakes Biel, Murten and Neuchâtel. The pretty lakeside towns invite you to take time out for an ice cream. An entertaining and varied week for active families.
