Combining gentle rides with relaxed river-and-lagoon cruising, this guided week traces a quiet arc from Venice to Renaissance Mantua (or vice versa). Moored on Giudecca, the barge sets an unhurried pace: a walking introduction to Venice, a glassblowing visit on Murano, then flat cycling across the Lido and Pellestrina to Chioggia. South of the lagoon the rhythm shifts to levees and canals, skirting the Po Delta’s bird-rich wetlands to Adria and the walled city of Ferrara. Grana Padano production and a carousel and street entertainment museum add offbeat stops before the waterways narrow toward the Mincio and Mantua’s lakes. Daily distances run 30–50km on mostly tarmac paths and quiet roads, with the boat often moving ahead during meals. Overnights are in twin cabins aboard, with breakfasts, self-packed lunches and most dinners included.
