This 6-day bike tour begins in northern Vermont, crossing into the beautiful French-speaking Eastern Townships of Quebec, offering gorgeous vistas, pretty villages, spectacular easy-to-intermediate biking, and excellent inns. The tour includes visits to Frelighsburg and Standbridge East’s Musée Missisquoi, with a wine tasting at Domaine du Ridge Vineyard. Much of the tour follows Quebec’s “Route des Vins,” with opportunities to visit vineyards like L’Orpailleur and Domaine Les Brome. Cyclists will ride along Chemin Gaspé, passing the 1976 Olympic equestrian facilities, and utilize dedicated bike paths on Quebec’s Route Verte, paralleling Lac Boivin and Parc Yamaska. The tour includes visits to historic Bromont and its Musée du Chocolat, stays at small boutique inns, and exploration of resort towns like Knowlton and Sutton. The tour concludes by re-entering the US in Richford and returning to Montgomery Center. The tour surfaces are 85% paved and 15% gravel. Includes breakfast. Biking distance: 37.5 miles, Elevation: 1,193 ft ascent, 1,202 ft descent. Terrain: Easier to Intermediate. Day 5: Cycling toward and along Lac Brome, visiting the Victorian town of Knowlton (known for Louise Penny's novels). Visits a duck farm company store and a boutique winery. Destination is Sutton, with a vibrant main street. Celebratory dinner at a craft brewery. Accommodation at Le Pleasant Hotel & Cafe. Includes breakfast and dinner. Biking distance: 38.6 miles, Elevation: 2,276 ft ascent, 2,358 ft descent. Terrain: Easier. Day 6: Final ride through Abercorn, re-entering the US in Richford. Options for gravel bike path or a challenging shortcut. Gentle final miles back to Montgomery Center. Includes breakfast. Biking distance: 20.8 miles, Elevation: 685 ft ascent, 754 ft descent.
