8-day Self-Guided Charming Venice and Vicenza Cycling Tour (Level 2) through Veneto, encompassing lagoons, sandy beaches, foothills of the Alps, Monti Berici, and Euganean hills. Explores green riverbanks along the Adige and Sile rivers. Includes cultural highlights such as Venice, Vicenza, and Bassano del Grappa, with picturesque villages and Prosecco vineyards. The tour is characterized by mostly flat cycling routes with one steeper climb to Asolo, primarily on paved roads and well-prepared nature trails, making it not very physically demanding. Included in the tour: 7 nights accommodation in 4*/5* hotels, breakfast, welcome briefing, luggage transfer between hotels, digital travel documents with navigation app and GPS data, a 24-hour ticket for Venice public transport, and one entrance with a small Grappa tasting session at the Poli Grappa Museum in Bassano. Hotel is on the mainland with good bus links to Venice. Explore the island city. A vaporetto ride along the Grand Canal is recommended. Day 2: Mestre/Venice – Chioggia (approx. 35km). Cycling over the Liberty Bridge to Venice, ferry to Lido, cycling via Pellestrina to Chioggia. Enjoy fish restaurants in Chioggia. Day 3: Chioggia – Abano Terme (approx. 55km). Follow the antique river course of Bacchiglione. Thermal water pools await at the hotel in Abano Terme. Day 4: Abano Terme – Vicenza (approx. 35km). Guideline is the Bacchiglione river through fertile fields to Vicenza, the city of Palladio. Must-sees include the Teatro Olimpico and Basilica. Day 5: Vicenza – Bassano del Grappa (approx. 40km). Ride to Marostica, famous for its castle and stone chessboard. Visit Bassano del Grappa, known for its covered wooden bridge and grappa. Includes a Grappa tasting at the Poli Grappa Museum. Day 6: Bassano del Grappa – Treviso (approx. 55km). Cycling up small hills, including a climb to Asolo. Descend into the Prosecco region and continue to Treviso. Day 7: Treviso – Venice-Mestre (approx. 45km). Path along the river Sile to Casale, then return to the starting point. Enjoy the last evening in Venice. Day 8: Departure or extension.
