Take a walk along the Garonne docks. This city is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO will fill you with enthusiasm for its quality of life, the green airy spaces, its gastronomy and of course its wine! Day 2 Bordeaux – Rauzan | 46km. Once the Garonne is crossed in Bordeaux, follow the bike path ‘Roger Lapébie’ (French racing cycle route) in the middle of vineyards and forest. This path use an ancient railway line which leads you to the heart of the ‘Entre-deux-mers’. You will then reach your accommodation in Rauzan, a medieval village dominated by its castle and keep. Day 3 Rauzan – Marmande | 69km. When you leave Rauzan cycle along the bike path until you arrive in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, a fortified village from the 13th century. Follow the itinerary on small countryside routes, before joining the Canal des-deux-mers in La Réole, a small village over-looking the Garonne. Follow the Canal and reach Marmande, the tomato capital city! Day 5 Agen – Moissac | 43km. The river run, this stage continues passing through Valence d’Agen, a medieval village with a rich cultural and natural heritage. You will find the warmest welcome for cycling tourists. Continuing you will arrive in Moissac, an unmissable stage of the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage. Visit the ancient Benedictine abbatial church, its cloister and the church tympanum is one of the greatest from the Romanesque Art, a true architectural spectacle that cannot be missed. Day 6 Moissac – Toulouse | 68km. During this last stage, enjoy the quietness of the canal before joining the lively and well-known “Ville rose”. The villages are warm and open, welcoming you for lunch breaks or time to relax. Finally you arrive in Toulouse, away from the traffic via the Canal du Midi. You must visit the town centre! Walk around the well-known ‘Place du Capitole’, the Basilica St Sernin, the Jacobins’ monastery, just beautiful.
