Self-guided Cycling Tour from Toulouse to Sete along the Canal du Midi, a route rich in history, punctuated by conquests, boat cruises, and sunny walks. The 'Canal du midi' offers numerous architectural and cultural treasures, including amazing civil engineering structures and Cathares vestiges. It's also an opportunity to meet with many house-boats and their inhabitants in a country of 'art de vivre'. Landscapes of vineyards, countryside, pine and olive trees will add to the rhythm of your stay. Tour character: Level 3, classified as medium (average = a little bit hilly stages OR stages between 40 km and 50 km), with 90% towpaths. Between Aude river and the canal, with visits to the canal bridge of Orbiel and the stone spillway of Argendouble. Day 5: Homps (or Olonsac) – Beziers | 64 km. Crossing charming villages, passing through the Malpas’ tunnel and admiring the cascade of the 9 locks of Fonserannes. Day 6: Beziers – Sete | 50 km.
