Spend a week cycling between some of the finest châteaux in the Loire valley. On this tailor-made tour, you can pop in to Blois, Cheverny, Chaumont and Chambord. The cycle trails are flat and often run along the banks of the River Loire, providing easy cycling that's perfect for families. You'll pass through forest, vineyard and little towns - and come to the gates of the most impressive chateaux in the area. Most days you'll cycle around 30km or so - leaving plenty of time to explore inside the grand establishments you'll see en route. The Loire Valley was a favourite location for aristocrats to build their residences and hunting lodges. The Loire valley is a lovely area of France - even without its magnificent collection of castles. You'll also cycle through Medieval towns, vineyards where lovely wines are produced in abundance and into dense forests. The Loire itself, France's big, wild river, will be your companion as you pedal. It's a useful landmark so you shouldn't lose your way. You'll stay in simple, family-run hotels - and you'll arrive at each one to find your luggage already transported for you.
