Welcome to the land of lavender: sun-kissed Provence makes for a great cycling destination. The south of France region is both scenic and historic, and the pace of this holiday is relaxed enough that you can take your time browsing the market, or lingering over lunch. This is a leisurely cycling holiday, covering distances around 20 miles with each ride. Your luggage is transported for you to the next stop, leaving you unburdened to explore. Highlights could include the historic city of Avignon with its famous bridge or the well preserved Roman theatre at the city of Orange. Don’t miss Vaison la Romaine, an extremely atmospheric medieval town with Roman ruins on its doorstep. Don’t forget that Provence is a wonderful wine region, too, land of Côte du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape so stop at the family run vineyards for a tasting, or order a glass at dinner it pairs wonderfully well with Provençal cuisine, of course. The village Châteauneuf-du-Pape itself, where every other house seems to do tastings, might be the best part of your trip. This trip can be booked April - October. We offer the possibility of travelling by train to and from the UK for this trip and can book this for you if required. Please enquire for further details.
