Overview

A 7 cycling adventure along new Ciro Route through BiH and Croatia. A spectacular cycling circuit, to and from Dubrovnik. Tailor made, staying at family run guesthouses and hotels, with luggage transfers. This Ciro Bike Route cycling holiday follows, for the most part, the former Austro-Hungarian railway track from Croatia to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Opened in 2017, this spectacular route takes you across the border and through some beautiful Balkan countryside. On this tailor made seven day trip, we give you all the maps and itineraries you need to cycle along the 160km route as well as some recommended diversions off the trail. This is a moderate cycling holiday, covering between 45 – 85 km a day depending on the itinerary you settle on. We have not included bike rental as part of the holiday price because sometimes people like to bring their own, but also because you can choose between renting MTB, hybrid and also electric bikes. This unique cycling holiday will take you through some of Croatia and BiH’s most stunning regions, starting with the Konavle Valley which has the Adriatic on one side and Sniježnica mountains on the other. Then crossing over the border into BiH where myriad treats await along the trail, such as the Bjelašnica Mountains, Popovo Polj Valley, the Neretva River and ancient towns such as Blagaj and Mostar. You will be diverted from the railway track from time to time as parts of it are still in use by trains, giving you good reason to explore these other highlights mentioned above. However, we are local experts and cycling aficionados so rest assured that we will create a perfectly adventurous journey for you around both countries’ natural and cultural heritage highlights.
