Overview

A week of self guided cycling exploring Istria’s towns, landscapes, food and wine, with moderate rides and stays in small, locally run hotels. Enjoy a week cycling through unspoiled northern Croatia, exploring its ancient towns and local vineyards on this Croatia wine tour by bike. This holiday runs in Istria, the largest peninsula in Croatia, in the far north of the country. It’s a lush, productive region of vineyards and olive groves, with pretty towns perched on hilltops, rivers, forests and pebbly beaches. You’ll find culture, history and beautiful rural landscapes here and you’ll also find superb wine. This eight day holiday combines easy cycling, excellent food and wine, and exploration both inland and along the coast, as you pedal to handsome medieval towns such as Grožnjan, Oprtalj, Motovun and the Roman town of Porec. Stay in four carefully chosen small hotels throughout the region and gain a great overview of Istria’s towns, history, landscapes and cuisine. Staying for two or three nights in the same hotel also allows for some out and back rides, and gives you the chance to get settled in a single base for a few nights. This is a self guided tour, with moderate rides of 40km per day on average, and you will be provided with a detailed road book and a map. You can also rent E-bikes for this tour.
