A 13 day small group tour seeing Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam highlights from a saddle. Averaging 50-60km per day. Staying mostly in hotels and one homestay. Start in Ho Chi Minh and end in Bangkok. This cycling holiday in Indochina covers three of south east Asia's countries, travelling on a small group, fully guided tour with maximum sixteen like minded cyclists. This trip is as much about cultural and natural heritage experiences as it is about cycling and so, although we cover on average 50km per day on our bikes, we take plenty of time to explore important sites along the way. The trip ends in Thailand, with time to enjoy cycling through the rice and rubber plantations of Kabinburi, river swims and general chilled pedalling before the contrasting urban onslaught that is the iconic city of Bangkok. As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts. We work with social enterprise Naga Earth which converts recycled cooking oil from hotels and restaurants to produce biodiesel. The biofuel powers our generator and the generators of many of the hotels we partner with. Few holidays have as little detrimental impact on the environment and local residents as a cycling trip. It is a quiet, low impact activity requiring comparatively little resources to support. We do believe in leaving more than just tyre tracks; this cycling tour actively encourages guests to chat with local people, visit local cafes and bars, purchase local produce, gifts and crafts and discover what life is really like across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. You will find that we also stay in small, locally owned hotels reflective of the local flavour, carefully handpicked to ensure you get the best travel experience ever and that we're upholding our values of giving back to the community to help build their economy and employment rate. On this trip we work with our own Foundation project Green Gecko and Paul Dubrule Tourism and Hospitality School to provide work experience and internship opportunities for young and disadvantaged Cambodians. We also partner with the Angkor Hospital for Children who provide free quality medical treatment for poor children in Cambodia, as well as educating the next generation of medical specialists in the country. Another of our local partners is Kaliyan Mith which provides quality skills training and business and employment support to caregivers of marginalised children. As part of our commitment to responsible travel a portion of your trip cost is donated to Bicycles for Humanity a not-for-profit, volunteer run, grass roots charity organisation focused on the alleviation of poverty through sustainable transport, in the form of a bicycle.
