Discover inland Morocco on a moderately-paced cycling holiday. This eight-day trip takes you on a loop from Marrakech into Morocco’s desert landscapes, passing through the Sahara’s Hamada desert, through oases and villages, and past kasbahs, ksours (castles) and palmeries. For the first few days you’ll be cycling on the road to warm up, passing through the Draa Valley, reaching the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara and discovering ‘The Valley of the 1000 Kasbahs.’ On the last day, you can experience exciting descent down the Tizi N’Fedrhate Pass in the Atlas Mountains. You’ll travel by both bike and minibus, in a group of no more than 16 cyclists. A support vehicle follows you on your adventure all you need to bring is your own helmet. As well as cycling, there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities. You can walk into the Todra Gorge, ride camels in the sand dunes, and spend the night in a desert camp before waking up to a glorious sunrise over the dunes. You’ll start and end the trip in Marrakech, a city densely packed with atmospheric sights from the medina to the Djemma-el-Fna Square.
