Overview

This Baltic bike tour explores the Baltic coast and the National Parks of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia on very scenic routes. Offered as a self-guided with support or fully guided, the itinerary includes the three capital cities, Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn, whose Old towns have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Another highlight of this unique experience is the previously closed Curonian Spit and the largest and most beautiful Estonian island of Saaremaa. Traveling from Lithuania, through Latvia, and nort to Lithuania, you will experience a variety of villages, farmland, and enjoy the very distinct cultures of these quite different countries. This tour is offered in the reverse direction as self-guided with support. There are several bus transfers included in the tour that will allow you to cover more distance and to see and experience the resurgence and resilience of these Baltic countries. The tour offers a moderate skill level, with daily biking routes mainly on low-traffic roads and cycle paths ranging from 25 to 57 km (16 to 36 miles) each day. The terrain is varied and rolling with some gradual hills on some riding days, but flat most of the tour. Walking in the capital towns is along cobbled streets. The tour covers all three Baltic States, and therefore it includes a few long bus transfers between the most interesting cycling destinations and the capital cities. Accommodations are in 3 and 4-star hotels. The tour includes comfortable trekking or hybrid bikes, with options for unisex electric bikes, gravel bikes, and children's bikes/trailers. A rental package includes a pannier bag, cable lock, water bottle, and handlebar bag (optional). Guided tours include helmets, while self-guided tours include a repair kit and a high-security lock.
