Day 1 Passau: Arrive with your family for your cycle holiday along the Danube Cycle Path. Check-in, handover of your travel documents and you receive your rental bikes in our bike centre. Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful old town of Passau and the ships in the pier arouse enthusiasm by the grown-ups and kids. Day 2 Passau–Niederranna/sourroundings, approx. 15 km + boat ride Passau-Kasten: After breakfast enjoy the boat trip from Passau to Kasten, where your cycle tour starts. After a few kilometres you see the mermaid, called Isa, We also recommend a visit of the water adventure world “Haus am Strom” in Engelhartszell. Day 3 Niederranna/sourroundings–Obermühl, approx. 20 km: Soon, you reach the world famous “Schlögener Schlinge”, where the River Danube made its way in millenniums through the hard granite rock in a S loop. Fortresses and ruins flank the wooded hills and emboss the scenery. Family tip: Walk to the viewpoint of the “Schlögener Schlinge”. Day 4 Obermühl–Aschach, approx. 20 km: As soon as you leave behind the Upper Danube Valley, the fertile Eferdinger Becken spreads out before you. Vegetable & fruit areas under cultivation line up along the cycle path and we recommend tasting the piquant “Essiggurkerl” or the delicious asparagus specialities. Family tip: the ruin Schaunberg revives the knight's time. Day 5 Aschach–Linz, approx. 20 km: Leisurely you cycle along the south side of the Danube Cycle Path up to power station in Ottensheim, where you cycle to the other side of the river. From Ottensheim you take the train to Linz. Family tip: Visit the fairytale world at Pöstlingberg in Linz. Day 6 Linz: Return by train to Passau from your cycling tour (included). Car rental in Germany: If you would like to drive yourself before or after your tour, ask us for a quote on any brand new Renault, Peugeot or Citroen vehicle for driving in Europe.
