This is a 7-day and 6-night self-guided cycling adventure from the lower parts of the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean Sea in Costa Brava, Spain. The trip starts in a medieval mountain village and traverses a protected volcanic area on quiet cycling tracks. It includes time in Girona, a renowned cycling hub, and concludes with relaxation by the sea. The tour offers 3 cycling days totaling 160 km with options for touring, gravel, or e-bikes. Accommodation is in standard hotels with 2 nights at each location. Accommodation includes 2 nights in Santa Pau (Hotel Cal Sastre****, superior double room, half-board), known for its family-owned charm and excellent local cuisine. Another 2 nights are spent in Girona (Hotel Carlemany****, double room, B&B), a modern hotel in the city center with a bike room. The final 2 nights are in Platja d'Aro (Hotel Costa Brava***, double room with sea view, half-board), located right on the beach. Included services are 4 days of bike rental (standard touring bikes), luggage transfers between hotels, transfer to the tour start on Day 2, and downloadable routes for personal devices. Not included are transfers to the tour start (Santa Pau) and from the end (Platja d'Aro), e-bike upgrades, lunches and snacks, drinks with dinners, and dinners in Girona to allow for personal exploration of the city's gastronomy. Day 1 involves arrival and check-in at Hotel Cal Sastre in Santa Pau, a charming medieval village in the Garrotxa volcanic region, known for its well-preserved architecture and local culinary delights. Day 2 is a 50 km cycling day from Llanars (after bike fitting and transfer) to Santa Pau, passing through idyllic countryside, the Pyrenees, and the unique volcanic terrain of La Garrotxa. Day 3 features a 70 km cycle from Santa Pau to Girona, passing through the volcanic landscape of Olot and various charming villages, concluding in the historic city of Girona. Day 4 is dedicated to exploring Girona by foot, known for its stunning architecture, ancient Jewish Quarter, Onyar River houses, Eiffel Bridge, Arab Baths, and medieval city walls. Girona is also highlighted as a major cycling hub. Day 5 is the final 40 km cycling day from Girona to the Mediterranean coast in Platja d'Aro, passing through green fields and quaint villages. Bikes are collected at the hotel on this day. Day 6 is for beach relaxation in Platja d'Aro, with options for water sports or visiting nearby coastal towns like Palamós, Calella de Palafrugell, and Begur. Walking along the Camí de Ronda coastal path is also suggested. Day 7 is the departure day, with breakfast at the hotel followed by check-out. Airport transfers can be arranged.
