These pearls of the Aegean rank among the most beautiful islands in Greece, and while sailing between them will never go out of fashion, the best way to really experience them is by bike. On this Greek islands cycling tour of the Cyclades, you’ll begin on Kea, and over the course of a week visit five more islands, including Syros, Kythnos, Sifnos, Paros and Serifos, spending a day touring leisurely around each one and staying in a locally owned hotel. One of the great things about this holiday is that there are different routes available each day, so if you prefer a shorter ride with fewer hills, you just key that into your GPS device and follow the route notes you’ve been provided with. And if you like the idea of pushing yourself a little but you’re not entirely sure, you can opt for an e-bike. Enjoy locally made preserves on your morning rolls before setting off every day. There are cobbled medieval streets to wander, hidden coves to find, historic theatres and other ruins to muse over. The islands are home to legends, of course, as is practically every patch of land in Greece. Serifos, your final stop, was the birthplace of Perseus and home to the Cyclops. Your ferry tickets are included, and you’ll have full support, so that you can be confident of timetables, directions and finding a welcoming hotel waiting for you every afternoon. Your routes will use quiet roads wherever possible, and even when there is traffic, it won’t be heavy. About all you have to worry about, then, is whether to have dessert every night. Go on, you’re on holiday. This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements. We believe in sustainable and responsible tourism, and we are committed to what is called Responsible Travel so as to have the lowest possible environmental impact. As this is a biking trip, carbon emission is minimal as we use the power of legs. The nature of this trip is environmentally friendly, as it is a pure cycling tour. No other transportation is previewed, except of course of the marine transportation. On top of that, we inform our guests not to litter, to recycle if possible and general to follow responsible travel guide lines. The communication between us and our guests is made primarily via e-mail. We do not send any printed material to our guests,as we provide all the documents (invoices, road books, vouchers etc.) via e-mail. We also as a company, gather plastic caps and donated them to a local club that helps children with special needs by buying them special trolleys. By using only local services and local staff we provide a form of tourism that benefits the community. The traveler also has the chance to meet authentic local cultures and traditions . The local population is the best to do the storytelling of their own region. We think tourism should be about to respect and benefit the locals and that responsible travelers will get more out of their holiday by giving a little bit back to the regions and people that they meet. But the most important thing for us, is that your presence here gives us a strong negotiation card for pressing the local authorities for the development of our area, such us constructing cycling streets, increase the recycling program, improve social buildings etc. On this cycling tour all the cooperators are locals, thus they have very good knowledge of the area. We also suggest testing local cuisine in small traditional family-run restaurants. Also, all of our employees in the office are locals.
