Holland's Tulips Self-guided Cycling Tour is a 5-day tour in the Netherlands. It starts and ends in Amsterdam. The tour highlights the Bulb Flower District, Keukenhof park, and the Green Heart region. It also includes visits to Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Leiden. Car rental and travel insurance options are also available. Day 1: Arrival in Amsterdam. Explore the canal ring area, city squares, or roam off the beaten track. Parking in Amsterdam is difficult. Day 2: Amsterdam to Haarlem (53 km). Cycle through South Kennemerland, visit the Cruquius pumping station, and see the first tulip fields near Bennebroek. Explore downtown Haarlem, including Grote Markt square and 'hofjes'. Day 3: Haarlem/Santpoort to Leiden (38 km). Explore Haarlem's 'hofjes' and the Frans Hals museum. Cycle through the Dune and Bulb Region, known for tulips, crocuses, daffodils, and hyacinths. Option to visit Keukenhof flower exhibition (booking an extra night in Leiden recommended). Leiden is an old university town with canals, monuments, windmills, museums, and botanical gardens. Day 4: Leiden to Amsterdam (63 km). Cycle past lakes, through the 'Green Heart' region, and along the River Amstel, passing villages and country houses. This route is noted for its greenery. Day 5: Return home. The cycling holiday concludes after breakfast.
