Overview

Cycle the Inn and Adige Valleys through South Tyrol, Trentino, and the Dolomites, from Innsbruck in Tyrol to the northern shores of Lake Garda. The route follows historic trade paths through alpine valleys, vineyards, and lakes, connecting Central Europe with the Mediterranean. The tour combines mountain scenery and lakeside cycling for a memorable way to experience Austria and northern Italy. The tour is self-guided. Daily Program: Day 1: Arrival in Innsbruck. Day 2: Innsbruck – Imst (40 mi / 64 km). Day 3: Imst – San Valentino/Burgusio/Malles (24-30 mi / 38-49 km + bus transfer). Day 4: San Valentino/Burgusio/Malles – Merano (39-45 mi / 62-73 km). Day 5: Merano – Ora (33 mi / 53 km). Day 6: Ora – Trento (29 mi / 47 km). Day 7: Trento – Riva/Torbole (30 mi / 49 km). Day 8: Departure from Riva/Torbole. Surface and terrain: Well-maintained cycle paths through the Inn and Adige river valleys, with long stretches on quiet country roads that pass through orchards and vineyards, far from busy traffic. A shuttle transfer carries you from the Inn Valley up to the Reschen Pass, where your ride continues with an unforgettable descent of nearly 1,200 meters (about 4,000 feet). The route includes a few short climbs, adding just the right amount of challenge to an otherwise relaxed cycling journey. Standard touring bikes have an upright posture for comfort. Bike rental plus will have an upright and forward posture. Equipment included with bike rentals: Saddle bag, Handlebar bag, Tools, Pump, Repair kit, Combination lock. Helmets are not available to rent.
