Overview

Journey through three countries on this world renowned cycle path. The Lake Constance cycle route is one of the most popular bicycle routes in Europe. On this tour, you will cycle around the entire lake and get to know three countries and several islands. The main highlights are the medieval towns of Konstanz, Stein am Rhein, Meersburg, and Lindau with the festival town of Bregenz. In comparison to other cycle routes, the daily routes are relatively short as there are a variety of places and attractions waiting to be discovered. You will be able to enjoy the amazing landscape of the lake against the backdrop of the Alps, romantic villages, and sleepy towns around the glistening lake. Prepare to be impressed by an unforgettable and fascinating landscape. The first three stages are moderately hilly, otherwise the route is mainly level along tarred cycle paths close to the lake. The path runs partially along the lakeshore and partially along lakeshore roads. Sporadically there are short, unfortified sections, around Friedrichshafen the cycle path runs parrallel to the highway. The lakeshore is mostly open to the public. The ratio is around 90% cycle path and 10% road shared with car. Similarly, 90% of the roads are asphalt, the rest are dirt or small stones. Tour start and end Nearest Airport: Zurich (ZRH) Nearest train station: Constance Trains run frequently between Konstanz and Zurich (airport and city). It's about 65 minutes between the airport and Konstanz and 80 minutes between downtown Zurich and Konstanz.
