There, you can wander through vibrant flower gardens, admire diverse plant life, traverse the Italian staircase, and visit the tropical butterfly house Your first stage begins with a trip to Constance-Wallhausen, where you'll cross the lake to Überlingen by boat. Once ashore, enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere along the Überlingen lakeside promenade as you cycle along the Lake Constance bike path toward Meersburg. Here, you'll marvel at Meersburg Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in Germany. We also recommend a visit to the Vineum, where you can explore the cultural history of wine. Continuing along the shores of Lake Constance, you’ll arrive in Friedrichshafen. At the harbor, don’t miss the Zeppelin Museum (entry not included), home to the world's largest collection detailing the history of Zeppelin aviation. On a mostly flat route, today’s Lake Constance cycling tour takes you to the eastern part of the lake, with overnight accommodations in either Lindau or Bregenz. As you arrive in Lindau, you'll cross a railroad track to reach the heart of the historic district, located on an island. The medieval charm of the old town is sure to delight you. Take a moment to relax in one of the many cafes by the harbor and enjoy the view of the impressive 33-meter-high lighthouse standing proudly at the pier. If you stay in Bregenz, just a few kilometers away, don’t miss the opportunity to take a cable car ride up to the 1,000-meter-high Pfänder Mountain. From the summit, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Lake Constance and the surrounding Alpine peaks. Today, you’ll cycle into Switzerland, with your hotel accommodations in either Rorschach or Arbon. After crossing the Rhine twice, you’ll arrive in Rorschach, located at the southernmost point of Lake Constance. Be sure to visit the historic Badhütte, a charming structure built on stilts over the water. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the lakeside promenade, taking in the beautiful views. If you stay in Arbon, you’ll find the town’s landmark, the castle, situated in the heart of the old town. The castle houses the Historical Museum (entry not included), which offers a fascinating journey through 5,500 years of local history, tracing back to the Roman Empire. Today, your cycling tour around Lake Constance brings you back to the historic Council City of Constance. Be sure to visit the Rosgarten Museum, founded in 1870, where you can delve into the city’s rich art and cultural history. If you’d like to continue cycling, the nearby island of Reichenau is an ideal destination to conclude your tour. Explore one of the three Romanesque churches and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the island from Hochwart. After breakfast, your Obersee bike tour comes to an end.
