The tour begins and ends in Monpazier, a Bastide town founded in 1285 and commissioned by King Edward I of England, known as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Day 2 involves cycling to Puy-l'Évêque, passing the Castle of Biron and the 11th-century fortress of Gavaudun. The accommodation is a 17th-century stone charterhouse near Puy L’Eveque. Day 3's ride is to Villefranche-Du Perigord, a Bastide town, with an optional visit to the Zadkine museum in Les Arques. The route passes through rural French countryside and chestnut forests. Day 4 takes you to Belvès, another of “France’s most beautiful villages,” with views and the sound of seven bell towers. Medieval houses can be discovered under the main square. Day 5 offers an optional loop to explore Dordogne river castles, including Château de Milandes (Josephine Baker's home) and the famous Château de Castelnaud.
