Overview

Our ‘Experience’ island series of itineraries are designed to deliver a short break opportunity experiencing the best each destination can offer embodying everything that is special cycling in these spectacular locations. As well as the first class organisation and support from us you can expect warm sunshine, marble smooth roads, fantastic cuisine, delightful hospitality and of course plenty of hairpins to get the blood flowing. Designed for the 'shoulder season' you will feel like you have the roads to yourself and only you and the asphalt have come out to play. Come and join us tune up your season with a trip to some of the hidden cycling treasures of Europe… Majorca earns its reputation due to a perfect "cycling ecosystem": glass-smooth tarmac, a driver-aware culture, and the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana (a UNESCO World Heritage site). For UK cyclists, it offers a predictable climate and varied terrain that ranges from flat coastal lanes to iconic "category 1" climbs. The infrastructure is specifically built for athletes, with bike-friendly hotels and professional mechanical support available across the island. We highly recommend the Northern region, specifically Puerto Pollensa or Alcudia. These locations provide immediate access to the Tramuntana mountains while also offering flat routes towards the centre of the island (the "Pla"). This geographic versatility allows us to plan varied itineraries that don't require long "transfer miles" through heavy traffic to reach the best scenery. Majorca is exceptionally safe for cyclists. Local legislation requires motorists to give a minimum of 1.5 metres when overtaking, and the high volume of cyclists means drivers are very "bike-aware." However, riding in a guided group with European Cycling Tours adds an extra layer of safety; our leaders manage pace and navigation, while our support vehicle provides a visible barrier and immediate mechanical or medical assistance if required. Spring transforms the island into a vibrant emerald paradise; the crystalline light makes the limestone peaks of the Tramuntana glow against a deep navy Mediterranean. Whether you crave the drama of legendary mountain climbs like Sa Calobra or the quiet, stone-walled lanes of the interior scented with orange blossoms and wild fennel, the roads are yours. It’s a place for lingering café stops, local almond cake, and finding your own cadence on blissfully quiet roads before the summer crowds arrive.
