Overview

This cycle tour begins at Lake Constance and manages to cross Switzerland without climbing any major hills. Apple and pear trees characterise the landscape at the start of the ride in Thurgau, soon alternating with carrot fields in Aargau, vines in the Three Lakes region and mountain panoramas on Lake Geneva. Along the way, the attention to detail that makes Switzerland so beautiful is evident at every turn: stroll through the rose garden in Bischofszell, discover the newly designed baths in Baden, count the 11 altars and bells in Solothurn and stroll through the cobbled streets of Estavayer. The Mittelland Route is a journey for connoisseurs, every detail is just right. The route is mostly flat and leads through the Swiss mittelland. It is perfect for family bike tours with children. Mostly car-free and on natural field and forest paths.
