This tour offers a chance to explore this charming city, rich in history and culture, renowned for its beautifully preserved Jewish Quarter, impressive Cathedral, and scenic medieval walls. Optional extra nights in Girona can be arranged for acclimatization or more exploration. Stage 1: Loop ride Girona - Vall de Llémena (50 km | 470 m) takes you through the peaceful inland countryside of the Llémena Valley along the Ter River, passing ancient farmhouses and the ancient volcano of La Crosa. Stage 2: Girona – Sant Feliu de Guíxols (53 km | 440 m) begins on the Vies Verdes (Greenways), former railway lines, riding through cornfields and past rural churches, eventually reaching the coastal town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Stage 3: Sant Feliu de Guíxols – Torroella de Montgrí (50 km | 485 m) starts along the coast to Palamós, climbs to Cap Roig with sea views, descends to Calella de Palafrugell, and turns inland through medieval villages like Pals and Gualta. Stage 3 Hard version: (54 km | 600 m) includes a climb up Puig Cargol in the Les Gavarres range with a scenic gravel descent, before continuing through medieval villages to Torroella de Montgrí. Stage 4: Torroella de Montgrí – Castelló d’Empúries (47 km | 335 m) is mostly flat, following the Ter River to its mouth at the sea, then north towards L’Estartit with a climb through Parc Natural del Montgrí offering Mediterranean views. Stage 5: Castelló d’Empúries – Figueres (66 km | 800 m) visits Empuriabrava with its canals and Roses with its beaches, offering an optional longer route into Cap de Creus Natural Park with a climb up Puig Alt, and passing through wine-producing villages. Stage 5 Easier version: (46 km | 300 m) takes a shortcut from Roses directly to Figueres via Pau and Vilajuïga, skipping the Puig Galt climb. Stage 6: Figueres - Girona (60 km | 875 m) offers two options: a challenging climb to the Sanctuary of Els Àngels or a more relaxed flat route following the Ter River back to Girona. Stage 6 Easier version: (55 km | 460 m) follows the river directly to Girona, avoiding the final climb to Els Àngels. Departure day includes breakfast, after which the trip concludes.
