Spend eight days exploring the Portuguese coastline in and out of the saddle on this small group tour between two of the country's most delightful cities. This trip doesn't involve cycling all the way from Porto to Lisbon. Instead, you'll cover some of the way by bike, but also be transferred to scenic cycling sections by minibus. Expect leisurely cycling; you don't need to be an expert by any means. You'll cycle 212km over five days, and travelling between 30km and 48km each day. You'll be accompanied where possible by a support vehicle. You'll be cycling on quiet routes on tarmac for most of the time, though there are some dirt road sections. You can upgrade to an e bike if you'd prefer. A highlight on this trip is the scenic coastline. You'll pass lagoons and estuaries, dunes and pine forests. You'll cycling alongside and indeed, get a chance to relax on some great beaches including getting a free afternoon to relax at Foz de Arelho. One of the best things about cycling here? Fuelling up. Enjoy local, seasonal food picnics for lunch, and dinners in local restaurants. Seafood-lovers will be in their element: try grilled sardines, bacalhau or seafood stew, plus a glass of Vinho Verde to wash it down. Bitten by the cycling bug? You can continue on for a second week and cycling from Lisbon to the Algarve if you would like. Alternatively, stay a few more days in Lisbon at the end of your trip, for time out of the saddle in the city.
