The holiday is screened as responsible travel, with efforts to maximise benefits to local people and places, and minimise negative impacts. Carbon Reduction: Staff can choose train travel over plane, and personalized support is offered for rail travel. Bike transport to and from the UK is provided to reduce bike cargo on flights. Environment and Wildlife: Office is paper-free, ethical suppliers are prioritized, ethical banking services are used, biodegradable feedstop materials are used, and recycling bins are provided. Feedstops are fully vegetarian, and weekly vegetarian evening meals are offered. Local Economy: Feed stop supplies are purchased locally, and some hotels are locally owned. Employment, Inclusivity & Diversity: Staff come from diverse backgrounds, with a mix of genders and no barriers to participation based on gender or LGBTQ+ status. Participants also come from various backgrounds globally. Charity: Two young people from charities supported by WWMT join the tour. All cyclists raise a minimum of £1000 for the William Wates Memorial Trust, which supports disadvantaged young people.
