Self-guided Cycling Tour around Salzkammergut Lakes with living tradition, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and beautiful landscapes. During the seven-day journey you stay overnight in the 4-star hotel 'Goiserer Muhle' in the quiet spa town of Bad Goisern. Special 'Zuckal': the award-winning cuisine of the hotel. This tour is ideal for the passionate leisure cyclist. Each day begins in Bad Goisern. And every day you get to know another part of the Salzkammergut. Look forward to wondrous lakes, tempting pastries and water-framed landscapes! Most of the stages are easy cycle tours with just occasional very small ascents. There is one longer ascent. The special charm of this family-run hotel with an award-winning gourmet cuisine lies in the unique combination of tradition and modernity. The spacious rooms are furnished in a lovely way and equipped with every comfort. The balconies offer views of the surrounding mountains. Day 4 Lake Wolfgangsee approx. 55 km First, you will ride your bike along the river Traun to Bad Ischl. The river Ischler Ache flows to Lake Wolfgangsee and further to St. Wolfgang. If time remains, you should not only visit the White Horse Inn and the church, but also go up the mountain Schafberg by taking the rack railway! A short ferry ride will take you to the other side of the lake and the bike path will take you via lake Nussensee and back to the hotel. Day 5 Lake Hallstatt approx. 35 km Today, there is plenty of time for the World Heritage area around Lake Hallstatt. Magnificent nature and the oldest salt mine in the world, the Dachstein Ice Caves, or a relaxing boat trip – there is something for everyone! During this tour, you will always cycle on the lake shore and all the highlights are close to the route. Day 6 Lake Ausseersee and Lake Grundlsee approx. 35 to 55 km The train will take you to Bad Aussee. There, you will have the opportunity to take a trip to the lakes Grundlsee and Toplitzsee. Lake Altausseer See is located on the way to the valley Rettenbachtal, which leads to Bad Ischl. Now you should definitely try the famous pastry Zaunerstollen (included in the tour price) at the Cafè Zauner. Because Emperor Franz Josef has already enjoyed these delicious pastries!
