This is a self-guided cycling holiday, from Trieste to Porec, starting and finishing with sea views, and ducking into the peninsula’s lush interior. Over five days, you’ll be in the saddle for three of them, riding for between 40 and 60km, so a fairly easygoing pace and no problems for those in decent fitness who cycle fairly regularly. You will be equipped with a quality hybrid bike (e-bikes are also available for this tour if you want a little extra help), as well as helmets, though feel free to bring your own. As it’s a self-guided itinerary, you will naturally be provided with excellent maps, route notes and of course, 24-hour support. Luggage is transferred between 3* hotels for you, so that you need carry only a daypack. Throughout, you will be following the Parenzana, a former narrow-gauge railway line that has now become a true highlight of cycling holidays in Croatia, taking you over bridges and viaducts, through tunnels and linking some of the Istrian Peninsula’s most beautiful scenery and interesting towns.
