The tour visits Las Terrazas biosphere reserve, Cuba's first ever self-sufficient community dedicated to the research and protection of the local ecosystem. In Viñales, guests dine at an organic farm where all the traditional dishes are made from the farm's own produce. The trip aims to benefit local communities outside of Havana. Cycling is a carbon-free activity. The company disposes of litter responsibly. Leftover plastic bottles are given to local communities who use them to sell home-made fruit juices. Tyres and other spare parts are donated to locals. Most nights are spent in casas particulares (homestays) offering a chance to understand daily life. Locally-run restaurants (paladares) are used where possible. Day 6 includes a visit to a tobacco farm in Viñales. Handicraft stalls selling locally-produced artisanal goods are present in Viñales and Havana. Guides stop at stalls selling local fruit and sweet treats.
