8-day Scharding to Vienna Self-guided Cycling Tour is a leisurely trip along the Danube cycle path, considered the most popular cycle route in Europe. It offers a combination of baroque towns, idyllic river landscapes, and cultural highlights. The tour is characterized as Level 1, with a flat or slightly downhill route along the Danube on a well-built, almost off-road cycling path with only very short sections on minor roads. The tour includes 7 nights accommodation in 3 & 4-star hotels, breakfast, a welcome briefing, luggage transfer between hotels, digital travel documents with navigation app and GPS data, one ferry ride, one wine tasting in the Wachau region, rental bike insurance, and a service hotline. Arrival can be by train to Passau or Schärding, or by flying into Linz, Vienna, or Munich airport. Parking is available in Passau (public garage, approx. €5/day) or free private parking in Schärding. Departure is by train from Vienna, with return transfer options available. Hotel upgrades and extra nights in Schärding or Vienna are available on request.
