You will cycle on beautiful bike paths mainly along the Adige River. The route will lead you from the Reschenpass (mountain pass) almost 1,500 metres in altitude downhill to Lake Garda. However, you will have to cycle some small climbs too. Overall, you will find yourself on beautiful bike paths and country lanes. Two route options lead to Bolzano: one follows the Adige River, while the other takes you on a more scenic ride through South Tyrol’s lush orchards, passing charming villages like Lana and Eppan. Along the way, you’ll visit the Messner Mountain Museum, set within the beautifully restored Sigmundskron fortress. In Bolzano, savor a cappuccino at Waltherplatz and wander through the picturesque, arcaded streets. A visit to Ötzi, the famous Iceman, is an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss. Leaving Bolzano, the route follows the Eisack River until it meets the Adige. From there, the beautiful bike path leads through fragrant orchards all the way to Salurn, marking the southern edge of German-speaking South Tyrol. Along the way, vineyards producing the robust red wine “Teroldego” guide you into the charming historic old town of Trento. The final stage begins in the historic Tyrolean border town of Rovereto, continues on to Mori, and then heads west toward Lake Garda. After a brief climb over the small Passo San Giovanni, you’ll enjoy a downhill ride to the lake, arriving in either Torbole or Riva.
