Overview

Self-guided Cycling Tour along the romantic Rhine. This tour takes you through regions known as German Tuscany or the home of emperors and kings. It offers a route that combines picturesque wine villages, towns full of art and culture, unique nature, and great cuisine with French influences. You will explore two of the three Rhenish imperial cathedral cities, Speyer and Worms, and experience the student flair and extraordinary architecture of Heidelberg. The tour is characterized by Level 2 cycling, meaning you will cycle mainly on flat terrain with only some slight climbs in the vineyards between Worms and Bad Durkheim. Included in the tour are 5 nights accommodation in 3* hotels and inns (upgrades available), breakfast, a welcome briefing, luggage transfer between hotels, digital travel documents including a navigation app, GPS data, and a route book, and a service hotline. Optional services include bike rental (99 EUR) or E-bike rental (279 EUR). Car rental in Germany is also available for self-driving before or after the tour, and travel insurance quotes are provided. Daily departures are available, and extra nights can be added from 79 EUR (+45 EUR for single person). The tour includes arrival by train to Neustadt an der Weinstraße, with Frankfurt/Main airport as the nearest airport. Parking is available at the hotel parking garage (approx. EUR 10-20 per day) or free public parking spaces.
