The Lakes-Route deserves its name, because many lakes touch the route from its beginning at Lake Geneva to its goal at Lake Lucerne. The Route leads through some outstanding touristic regions with great sounding names: Montreux, Gruyeres, Gstaad, Interlaken and Lucerne… Whoever completes the Lakes-Route, has seen the most beautiful corners of Switzerland. The route is naturally flat along the many lakes - but there are smaller and larger inclines to overcome between the bodies of water: Less sporty cyclists are therefore advised to use an electric bike, which is particularly suitable for this route. Sporty cyclists tackle the stages on touring bikes and shorten the route by public transport if necessary.
