Overview

Breathtaking scenery which felt as if you were cycling in a picture postcard for almost the entire time. The 2 e-bikes we used (Scott) were very good. Our booked hotels were exceptional and exceeded our expectations with appetizing meals provided. The customer service was EXCELLENT from start to finish. Tripsite was an absolute pleasure to work with and adjusted our schedule to fit our needs. We cannot say enough good things about Merete who despite us being on a self guided tour, kept in contact with us the entire time and assisted us if needed. I HIGHLY recommend this trip; we did elect to do e-bikes despite me being a cyclist (my husband doesn't cycle much ) and it was the right choice as it allowed us to enjoy the beauty of this part of the world. Looking forward to planning my next overseas cycle trip with Tripsite! The touring team was excellent (that would include Marietta our principal guide, her husband (the bike and luggage handler) and her co-guide). Their combined knowledge, kindness, and efficiency made for a perfect trip. We rode through some rain storms, but they were of small consequence (that surprised me), Norway is gorgeous, the e-bikes were excellent (my husband and I are in our 80s), and the daily itineraries were varied and well thought out. The operating people were the best. Merete was our guide, her husband Yngvar was the bike technician and luggage and bike van driver, and Geir was the assistant guide. All three were not only competent at their assignments but were three of the nicest people you could ever meet. The fact that Merete and Yngvar own the company contributed to the efficiency and real desire to deliver a great product. The scenery was magnificent. Food and accommodations were very good The other riders melded into a convivial group which made each day one to remember. The ride is rated easy to moderate. I think that is fair. However there are a couple of climbs that a less experienced cyclist might want to consider using the optional e-bikes available for the tour. Outstanding trip. Great communication during planning. All accommodations were excellent to amazing quality. The support and transfers during our bike trip was super. I strongly recommend this trip! The beautiful nature and beauty of the fjord, which we will never forget. Well-chosen and prepared bikes for the tour, which were a pleasure to ride. Good organization and clear instructions Beautiful landscape and cultural events of National day. We had 9 days of warm weather 60-70s with only a half of rain one morning. This was unusual according to many locals with whom we talked. The contrast between the snow cover mountains and the roads along the fjords was extraordinary. The Sognefjorden region was incredibly scenic both travelling by ferry and cycling along the sides of the fjord. The local touring company took excellent care of us while providing fascinating routes to cycle that offered stunning views and historical points of interest along the way. We could not have asked for better service in planning our tour, booking quality accommodations and timely transfer services where required to make our tour a complete success. Each day of my trip with Fjord Cycling brought unexpected delightful surprises. The cycling was just the right amount of challenge, the accommodations were lovely and the scenery, including those wonderful waterfalls was breath taking. If you want to experience Norway… this is the trip to take! The entire trip was wonderful! The views of the fjords, towns and forests while riding bikes were spectacular. We were waiting to see if the trolls were in the forests! Stopping in quant little villages along the way for a coffee, fruit and lunch was so enjoyable. The package of lodging, meals, bike rentals and guide that Fjord Cycling offers is one of the best we have ever had. Biking along the Sognefjorden fjord was an experience of a life time. This was the first time for us to book an organised bike tour, usually planning and booking everything ourselves and I have to say, it didn't disappoint! Everything was excellently arranged and according to what we had booked. The hotels were very good, especially the beautiful old Kviknes hotel ( the location was a dream) and the lovely boutique hotel Bestebakken which was also a culinary experience. The bikes provided by Fjord Cycling were of very good quality, but especially their customer service was super friendly, efficient and very caring. The owners are such lovely people. All in all an amazing experience. Definitely to be recommended The scenery all over the country. The food was excellent everywhere. The care from your planner on site was excellent. Norway Smiles! Every day we were amazed with the stunning scenery around every turn through the fjords! There was never any thought of turning around to 'go back' because we wanted to see what was around the next corner! The lodging accommodations were beautiful, comfy, cozy. We arrived at each inn and our bags were already in our room. We didn't want the week to end. We can't wait to do this trip again and will recommend to friends and all!
