Cultural experiences and activities include a hands-on seadas cooking class, Carignano wine tasting at a piede franco winery, traditional tuna-fishing (tonnara) experience in Carloforte, visit to the Tonnara Museum or working tuna fishery, exploration of Phoenician and Roman archaeological sites, visit to the historic village of Tratalias, ferry crossings to Sant’Antioco and San Pietro islands, and local product tastings featuring Sardinian specialties. The tour starts in Chia and ends in Portoscuso. The closest airport is Cagliari (CAG) for both arrival and departure. Day 1 involves a warm-up ride to Domus de Maria, meeting at Cagliari Airport at 11:30 am for a group shuttle to the hotel, bike fitting, and a ride along the coast with a stop at Chia Tower. The region is known for seafood, bottarga, and Vermentino wines. Day 2 takes us from Domus de Maria to Teulada and back to Chia, cycling inland through fragrant Mediterranean maquis and the Is Cannoneris Forest. The route includes a hands-on cooking class to prepare seadas and a descent along a spectacular road overlooking cliffs and coves. Day 3 is a ride from Chia to Sant'Antioco along a magnificent coastal road, passing through Chia, Cape Malfatano, and Porto Budello. Stops include the restaurant Prendas Antigas for local specialties and the medieval village of Tratalias. The route crosses coastal lagoons known for pink flamingos before arriving in Sant'Antioco and settling into a beachfront hotel in Maladroxia. Day 4 is a Sant’Antioco loop ride exploring the island's inland landscapes and Phoenician history. A visit to a museum detailing the coexistence of Sardinians and Phoenicians is included, followed by lunch at a local winery sampling Carignano wines from ungrafted vines. Day 5 is a ride from Sant'Antioco to Portoscuso, passing over inland waters, lagoons, and salt flats. The ride continues through sun-drenched plains and the rugged Iglesiente coast before reaching Portoscuso, a village with a rich maritime heritage. Day 6 involves a ferry trip to San Pietro Island from Porto Vesme to explore Carloforte, a village founded by Ligurian families from Tunisia. The day includes an immersion into tuna fishing culture with a visit to the Tonnara Museum or a working tuna fishery, followed by a farewell dinner in Portoscuso. Day 7 is the departure day with breakfast at 9:00 am and a shuttle to Cagliari Airport (CAG).
