Overview

This 5-day cycling tour through Austria's Salzkammergut region allows for active recreation and experiencing nature amidst a unique natural panorama. The gentle, hilly landscape of Salzburg's alpine foothills offers charm, with cycling routes along lakes and through valleys. The tour is rated Level 3, with completely flat routes along lake banks and the river Salzach, but the terrain in between is mainly hilly. Approximately one-third of the route is on cycle paths, with the rest on fields, forest paths, farm roads, and quiet side roads, with only a few short sections on busier roads. Included in the tour are 4 nights of accommodation in 3* hotels, inns, and guest houses (upgrades available), breakfast, a welcome briefing, luggage transfer between hotels, and digital travel documents including a navigation app, GPS data, and route book. A service hotline is also provided. The tour starts and ends in Salzburg, with arrival by train. Parking is available at hotels (approx. EUR 15 per day) or public garages (approx. EUR 80-115 per week). Daily departures are possible, and hotel upgrades are available on request. Bike rental (EUR 99) or E-bike rental (EUR 279) is available upon request by contacting the office. Travel insurance quotes can be obtained via a provided link for global travel insurance and evacuation services.
