This week-long itinerary offers exclusive and amazing scenic routes, excellent accommodation, and food. Guests can cycle along the best places of the Catalan coast, discovering hidden coves and long sandy beaches. The tour visits Girona, a medieval city, and includes a stop at the Anchovie Museum in L’Escala. The tour begins with an arrival day in Girona, offering exploration of the city's history and culture, including its Jewish Quarter, Cathedral, and medieval walls. Optional transfers and extra nights in Girona can be arranged. Stage 1 is a loop ride from Girona, a welcome meeting and bike fitting are included. The route includes a 103 km ride with 1,440 m elevation gain, heading west into the Llémena Valley, with a long but relatively gentle 25 km climb to Sant Hilari Sacalm (803 m). Stage 2 involves heading south from Girona through a flat area until Llagostera, followed by a climb and then heading towards the coast for overnight stay. Stage 3 starts with a short, steep climb to Sant Sebastià lighthouse, followed by a climb to the hilltop town of Begur. The route then heads inland to Pals, passing through historic villages before reaching Torroella de Montgrí. It continues towards Empúries and L’Escala, with a recommendation to visit the archaeological site. The stage ends in Castelló d’Empúries. Stage 4 is a challenging route with significant climbing, heading north into the Cap de Creus Nature Reserve, passing over the Col de Perafita. Options include a descent to Cadaqués and climbing back over Perafita to El Port de la Selva. The route follows an undulating coastal road to Banyuls-sur-Mer in France, then crosses back into Spain via the Coll de Banyuls, known for its double-digit gradients. The finish is in Figueres. Stage 5 takes riders deeper into the Pyrenees with significant climbs, crossing into France via Coustouges and returning to Spain over the Coll d’Ares (1,513 m), a 13 km ascent with a 6% average gradient. The stage concludes in Molló. Stage 6, the final day, begins with a mostly downhill stretch to Olot, located in the La Garrotxa Volcanic Natural Park. The route features rolling terrain and most of the day's climbing concentrated in the middle section, followed by a long descent back to Girona. Departure day after breakfast, with options to extend the stay in Girona.
